Future Trends: The Next Big Industry Issues

02:45 PM 03:15 PM Imperial A, Marquis Level

To date, the Automotive Aftermarket has found ways to respond to the technologies and designs in the vehicles that the OE’s brought to the market. However, the OE’s are now inventing, innovating, and evolving in ways that are changing the future of an industry, and responding like we did in the past will no longer be an option. Many of the features that are already “standard” in many of the new vehicles on the road today are already presenting challenges like never before. Join us as we take a glimpse into the future and explore these critical issues.

Communicating with Influence Workshop

03:45 PM 05:15 PM Imperial A, Marquis Level

Today’s executives and emerging leaders have a big challenge: Be heard over the din of information overload. Be memorable in an age of low attention spans. Exude confidence and expertise in a business environment that’s changing more rapidly than most can handle. So, what works? Powerful communication that helps you be heard, be understood, raise your influence, and inspire others to do their best work. Communication is your always-on, least expensive tool – a way for you to connect and engage, in your own unique way, so you make things happen.

Join us for a 90-minute, hands-on Lab to learn and start to use 6 key dimensions of Leadership Communication. Through exercises and practice, you’ll begin to identify fresh ways to introduce yourself, share your ideas, position yourself as an advisor and thought leader, and ask for what you need to succeed.

You’ll leave with:
  • An overview of what leaders need to keep in mind as they communicate – mistakes to avoid, best practices to use
  • A working understanding of some techniques for improving how you listen, question, share your opinion, and invite collaboration
  • Real-time experience practicing these techniques, so you raise your own awareness about your communication strengths (and challenges)
  • A framework/methodology for expert Leadership Communication that you can use right away

This Lab will be given by EchelonCommunicate, an Atlanta-based global consultancy that specializes in working with leaders, their teams, and their organizations to communicate more powerfully so they achieve extraordinary results. Echelon’s veteran coaches and facilitators will provide tips and feedback real-time as they share the expertise they’ve developed in working with premier organizations, entrepreneurs, and non-profits around the world.

Next Generation Leadership: Keys to Working Across a Multi-Generational Workforce

10:00 AM 11:00 AM A706, Atrium Level

A generationally diverse workforce is better equipped to respond to today's high-flux and disruption-prone marketplace. Since Millennials became a majority of the labor force, generational differences have never been wider as each generation has a varying perspective of work, leadership, technology, and communication. In fact, 52% of workers say they are least likely to get along with someone from another generation. Those that learn to lead and engage across generations, will gain the necessary competitive advantage in today's multi-generational workforce.

In this session, attendees will:

  • Learn why generations matter in the workplace.
  • Understand each generation's perspective of leadership, communication, technology, and work.
  • Learn 4 immediately actionable strategies to effectively lead across generations.
  • Learn from cross-industry examples of leaders and organizations successfully engaging a multigenerational workforce.
